woke up and immediately put on jeff buckley vinyl, and swam deep in the happiness of my blooming concrete jungled garden and the streaming sunlight. say what you will about south philadlephia, but in the early morning hours, when the light turns each leaf's cell matrix into a kaledioscope, I feel like luck has kissed both of my cheeks.

The con is still the best record I've bought in a long long time, keith is still the best husband ever for getting it for me on vinyl for christmas... along with a million other epic presents including a handmade edie print. Wonderous.

My family was up for the weekend and it was marvelous. Life is beautiful, and I am endlessly grateful.

most days are wonderful. but then there are
times when i cant help but feel this absolute
(distress? panic?) in the core of my bones that
just washes over me and soaks every cell. it's
not depression, not some teen melodrama of an
unsatisfactory life; i am so terrified
that i cant hold everything in
cant remember everything thats happened
everything ive seen, felt or heard.
cant duplicate it.
sunsets ive lost. dialogues that moved my heart
and pyramids that are grains of sand through my
fingers now. the way
i felt the first time i met any of you.
pieces of the patwork quilt of the mind that
are displaced by the overwhelming onslaught of
new sensories.
it's like that helpless crushing feeling when you
hear a epically beautiful song. it steals the breath out of you.
the words and the music wrap together and turn that moment
into this pause, between inhale and exhale where
your whole body aches from it. i wish
i could remember the first time i told ben
that i loved him. we were under stars on the back
porch of my friends house. it was too dark to
see his face. the other day my mom had to go
and get surgery and on the ride to the hospital she
was crying because she looked at me sleeping in the car
and she remembered me making the same face as a baby.
the last time my father told me he loved me
i was eight and it was in the middle of the night and
i had a bad dream and he let me sit on his lap
and rocked me to sleep.
i wish i could just keep everything in jars like fireflies
on the shelves in my room and not worry about it.
hell most people never think about it, but i'm
